AliMed® Stroke™ Cushions

AliMed® Stroke Cushions with Low-Profile Solid Seat Insert™ (SSI)™ meets the wheelchair positioning needs of stroke patients. Made of rigid, closed-cell foam, the SSI has a concave bottom to fill a wheelchair’s sagging sling seat. Low-profile cushion allows the user’s legs to reach the floor so he or she can self-propel the wheelchair. Gel/cushion interface helps prevent window edema by creating a gradual pressure transition between the firmness of the solid seat insert and the soft, pressure-relieving gel insert. Front waterfall edge reduces pressure at distal edges of thighs.

I. Basic Stroke Cushion with SSI™ Gel insert in the rear of the Solid Seat Insert offers excellent coccyx protection.

II. T-Foam (Temper Foam) Stroke Cushion with SSI™ provides even greater cushioning. A layer of 1″-thick, pressure-relieving Medium T-Foam lays over the SSI with gel insert for extra comfort and pressure distribution.

III. Pommel Stroke Cushion with SSI™ provides extra assistance with hip abduction. Suggested for the patient experiencing a slight increase in hip adductor tone. Pommel keeps hips apart, improving alignment and minimizing the patient’s tendency to slide forward. (Not available with T-Foam Layer.)
