DARCO® Wound Care Shoe System is the product of choice when dealing with Wagner Grade 3 or greater ulcerations. Use Closed Toe model for Wagner Grade 2 or greater ulcerations. Four multi-density insoles allow for the ultimate in customization and precisely targeted off-loading. Ultra-soft Plastazote® lining provides a virtually friction-free contact surface that won’t exacerbate existing wounds. Genuine leather upper can be modified or cut away to provide even greater levels of pressure relief (Open-Toe only). Sold in pairs to eliminate discrepancies in shoe height and the potential associated knee and hip pain. Instructions for locating and uploading a particular area must be followed carefully. Sold as pairs.

Carefully fit the shoe so that the metatarsal heads are just in front of the rocker apex. These instructions involve:

The grade of the ulcer (on the Wagner scale)
The size and shape of the unloaded area
The specific positioning of the four layers of insole materials before and after the ulcer closes
